The app may allow you to set or submit a location related to turtle nesting activity, beach patrol activity, nest sites, false crawls, relocations, or other field observations.

This may include:

  • A selected location on a map

  • GPS coordinates

  • A street address or nearby location reference

  • Beach access point or segment information

The app does not collect your location continuously in the background unless that feature is specifically added and disclosed.

 
Photos and Uploaded Content

The app may allow you to upload photos related to turtle nesting activity, including but not limited to:

  • Nest locations

  • Crawls or tracks

  • Eggs, shells, or hatch activity

  • Predation or damage

  • Beach conditions

  • Other field documentation requested by the program

Uploaded photos may contain metadata, such as the date, time, or location where the photo was taken, depending on your device settings.

 
App Usage Information

We may collect basic usage information to help improve the app, such as login activity, submitted reports, error messages, and general app performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

Information collected through the TNT Mobile App is used to support sea turtle monitoring, volunteer coordination, and nesting program administration.

We may use your information to:

  • Record and manage sea turtle nesting activity

  • Document crawl activity, nest locations, relocations, emergences, and excavations

  • Help program administrators review and verify field reports

  • Communicate with volunteers or staff about submitted information

  • Improve app performance and usability

  • Maintain accurate nesting records for conservation purposes

  • Support reporting needs for authorized turtle nesting programs or agencies

 

3. Who Can Access Your Information

Information submitted through the app may be accessible to authorized users, such as:

  • Program administrators

  • Sea turtle nesting coordinators

  • Approved staff or volunteers

  • Authorized conservation partners or agencies, when required for reporting or program operations

Access is limited to users who need the information to support the nesting program.

 

4. Photos and Sensitive Nest Location Information

Sea turtle nest locations and related photos may be sensitive conservation information. Users should only upload photos and location information that are relevant to the nesting program.

The app is not intended for public sharing of nest locations or sensitive wildlife data. Nest location information should only be used for authorized monitoring, reporting, and conservation purposes.

 

5. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable steps to protect the information submitted through the app from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or disclosure.

These steps may include:

  • User login and authentication

  • Role-based access to app features

Photos, location records, and submitted reports may become part of the program’s official nesting documentation.

The TNT Mobile App is intended for authorized volunteers, staff, and program administrators. It is not intended for use by children under the age of 15.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the updated policy will be posted in the app with a new effective date.

Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
